back...

well...we're back home again...out of the car after a l-o-n-g day of riding. mike and i took off from the detroit-ish area around 8:45 this morning, and we finally pulled in our driveway around 5 this evening. of course, we did make a few stops along the way...including picking up the girlies and enjoying a leisurely boat-ride!...and several potty breaks...and a stop to pick up our favorite bacon and tomato pizza for dinner. it has been a lovely week--wonderful time with my parents and a delightful (though quite full) weekend away for kim's (my sister-in-law) wedding. i promise to post some pictures tomorrow...wedding pics, boating pics...and whatever other pics i can scrounge up! for now though...i'm off to enjoy a nice slice of the yummy lemon cake my mom sent home with us...my birthday cake! and then...perhaps to bed...by nine if i'm lucky!

How's the de-vacationing going for you? You are probably much more organized than I am (That wouldn't take much...) So perhaps your house wasn't a huge mess of exploded suitcase when you got home.:) I actually got most things taken care of last night. Today I just have clean clothes to put away and floors to sweep/mop.
I'm so gald you had a good time away. it's great to do that every now and then, but so nice to be home to isn't it?

It is VERY quiet at our house this morning! What a blessing to have our "girls" (three out of four) wasn't bad for almost a whole week. Counting the time we spent together last weekend building the swingset in Indy and then all the time at the lake, this is longest since college days that Amanda has been home with us. Add the two sweet angels that came with her (and stayed behind with us for the weekend!!) it was like a dream come true. We know how nice it is to be back home and in a regular routine (hey, who are we kidding, I like my "retireeish" routine here too!), but it is awfully quiet around here. Of course, Poppy was singing the Veggie Tale song and saying "help, help, help" this morning. But, we sure enjoyed the opportunity to spend such quality (not to mention quantity) time with all of you. May the coming year be full of sunshine and blessings beyond your imagination. Who knows what God has in store for this next year of your life. Thanks for sharing so much of it with us. Love you babe! Mom
