Okay...I've spent far too much time messing with this...BUT...I think I have finally figured out how to make image publishing work the way I want it to in blogger! This means I should be able to move to blogger permanently so that ANYONE can post comments. Hooray! For now I will still be using both...as I tweak and figure out exactly what I want on this page, etc....

If you don't already have picture editing software (Photoshop Elements Etc.) then you can go to http://www.getpaint.net/ It's free & should allow you to change the size of your photos. This is also helpful for uploading several pictures to be e-mailed. Just be sure to save it as a COPY so that your original file size isn't changed in case you ever want to print them. I've never used paint.net but have heard great things about it. I have Photoshop 7 and from there, at the top of the screen, you go into Image - Image Size - then resize the Pixel Dimensions. I like to take the larger of the two dimensions (width/height) and make it 500. It will automatically change the other to keep the proportions correct. I am assuming that paint.net is very similar in layout so this technique will be very similar. :)
